@vertu.thelounge Lately, both of us have been combating odd and demanding hours at our respective primary professions, making it difficult to explore new places in town, à la FDFS. However, we did sneak in a dinner this Saturday at an all new place (to us), Vertu. Located on the terrace of a five-storeyed building, on Thaltej-Hebatpur road, this restaurant is open to sky. It promises a cityscape of the New West zone of Ahmedabad. But, for those who prefer only globally accepted signature skylines can choose the available indoor seating 😋 The menu is quite extensive with some eclectic mix of things, qualifying it to be 'global'. Turns out the owner/chef wanted to keep something for everyone who visits. We tried the following for a total of 1300ish. Kokum Cooler Ratatouille on Toast Oats Bhel Egg Kothu Paratha Jamaican Jerk Chicken The Kokum Cooler was refreshing! In the hindsight, owing to the alfresco set-up and the chill, I should’ve opted for something warm and cozy! That one is on me. The Ratatouille on Toast is a good swing of the original recipe. The Oats/Muesli Bhel took us by surprise, it grows on you! Something that summers would totally enjoy. The Egg Kottu Parotha stole the show and everything a winter evening needed! The Jamaican Jerk Chicken was well spiced and the side of salad and fries was complimenting. The aesthetics and location, combined with good food, makes it a promising contender for all the late-night-lounge sessions! Cheers & Happy Eatin'!
