We had one of the most electrifying meal of the year 2020!

Right when we thought that the local food scene had taken a breather, Papadum enters our lives to reinstate faith in the city's perception of Indian food.

Papadum's menu focusses on Keralean and partly-Mangalorean (Malabari, if one had to be specific) delicacies and boy, have they got the flavours going!

The food tasted home-made equivalent (the kind that is made with extra love) and the masalas seemed to have been roasted minutes before the food was prepared.

The Ghee Rice is a meal in itself! They have gone a step further and have used Kaima rice instead of the corrupted version, using Basmati.
Trivia - Kaima rice is also known as jeerakasala rice and is used in making the famed Calicut Biryani. The grain is finer, almost like that of Shahi Jeera and imparts a beautiful taste with the mildest of the spices.

In frame is:
Chicken Sukka, Veg Stew, Egg Nadan Roast, Chicken Kozhambu, Ghee Rice, Neer Dosa, Appam, Parota, Payasam, and Papadum (duh!)

The spice level (not to be mistaken for the heat) has a personality of its own! The dry coconut masala in Chicken Sukka, the incredibly comforting veg stew, the whole garlic cloves in Egg Nadan Roast, the characteristic Chicken Kuzhambo, and The finisher, dal payasam, left us in a spell of food high.

I do not recollect the last time I ordered for a village and ate for a village.

A meal enough for three pax came to 1491. Since they were inactive on Swiggy/Zomato at that precise moment, we placed an order directly with the number provided.

Cheers & Happy Eatin'!
