This year onwards, @madhavraoahmedabad is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with the Naivedya Thali and we cannot keep calm!
Run by a 3rd generation Saraswat family, which participates in Ganpati Sthaapna each year, at their home, has decided to do it, henceforth at Madhavrao and the Aarti is to be followed by the Naivedya Thali, all three days.
This Naivedya Thali is a platter of 21 Sattvik preparations, offered to the 'Vignaharta' as a sign of gratitude!
Salt
Lemon
Pickle
Khamang kakdi
Panchamrut
Chutney
Batata bhaji
Bharli vangi
Moongachi gathi
Ukadiche modak
Puran poli
Kothimbir wadi
Bhajiya
Varan
Futi kadhi
Shrikhand
Varan bhaat
Papad
Phulka roti

Dhungaredi Chaas
Each preperation is placed on the banana leaf at a specific position, with a unique purpose.
Even that wedge of lemon has a purpose, on the Thali. Ideally, tadka is added to the Dal in order to aide digestion. Since Varan does not have any tadka, it is eaten with ghee and a generous squeeze of lemon, to help the dal digest better!
Keeping true to traditions, every meal will be preceded with the Aarti.
Dates : 10-11-12 September
Lunch : 12 noon to 3pm
Dinner : 7pm to 10pm
Aarti Timings : 11.45am and 6.45pm on all 3 days
