
Last Monday, we waltzed to @ilovesandwichhouse for dinner.
This is a revamped and upgraded version of Qwiches, the brand which was the prior occupant at the same location i.e. S.G.Highway.
The ambience was upbeat, spacious, and in order with the general vibe they seemed to be aspiring to achieve; all the while complimenting the genre of food being served.
PEACH AND GOAT CHEESE TARTINE was the newest and most delightful dish that we tried. A crusty ciabatta bread with a layer of goat cheese and peach slices on the top, with rosemary, was a great combination. Although, why was it categorised, along with other food, under 'Aperitif' is beyond us. ₹230
VANILLA CREAM COLD BREW can be recommended to people who enjoy iced americano. ₹210
The PAIN PERDU's preparation seemed underwhelming as opposed to its description on the menu. You may skip trying this. ₹210
MASALA BHURJI SANDWICH was dry scrambled eggs with sauteed onions and shredded boiled egg white. Again, has a huge scope of improvement. ₹210
BARBEQUE CHICKEN SANDWICH came with boiled chicken chunks lathered with a store bought barbeque sauce as against its description which states - shredded chicken. It was served with an oriental dip. Very contradictory and quite unsatisfactory. ₹250
TOASTED BAGEL WITH DILL CREAM AND AVOCADO came with a very stubborn bagel bread and extremely generous amount of mass produced cream cheese and sliced/almost pureed avocado. Can be skipped. ₹300
The food is quite dispiriting and holds an immense potential for improvement. Although, it has a great ambience and for the ones who are looking for new hangout places and don't mind a low VFM, this one could definitely be given a chance in that context.
