In a quick succession of events in the kitchen, bati was made to compliment Rohan's Dal.
I did not document the recipe in a pictorial format but here is the process:
1 cup Wheat flour
3 tablespoons Sooji
3 tablespoons Besan
Ghee, enough to infuse each particle of the flour mix (Moen)
Water, enough to make a tough bhakhri-like dough
Allow rest for 10minutes after the dough is made.
Make dough balls with a dent in the middle with your thumb. Line these onto a microwave friendly plate. Cook for 15minutes on each side, so a total of 30minutes of cooking, at 180 degrees. Remove in a deep bowl and dunk them in generous/sparse ghee (as per preference). Eat with dal and garlic chutney.
Now the cheat code is, that you account for 3-4 extra batis in your dough. When no one can eat them, you pretend like it was an estimation error. Stride to the kitchen, like an anti-wastage commander-on-mission, and grind these batis into churma! π Dry pulse the batis, add powdered sugar, and some home-made ghee. Crush with fingers, such that you achieve a sand like feel on skin.
Soul satisfying churma is ready!
Aa same vastu, vadheli rotlis/bhakhris maa thi ban bani shake haan. Ema gol nakhvano. π€£
