is not just a community it is a beautiful and consistent emotion which we once again experienced last night Based on a single comment on FiA s facebook group Ruchita Mehta Saxena invited us over to try the Handvo she makes from a recipe which runs in her family for a 100 years There we were waiting at her doorstep with a tubful of ice cream to be eaten for dessert afterwards Once we got to talking we realized she was as amused as we were that a couple of strangers had come over for a meal based on a comment on a post on FiA and how the extrapolated version of this same experience is felt while coming to any of the FiA meets And that s what is all about We ve come a long way from being just a bunch of people talking about food to this this record breaking Undhiyu Jalebi Eating Garba Playing ever so enthusiastic Foodaholics who believe in the magic that can happen over food and today we just want to really acknowledge that There have been instances where members have found the most inseparable best of friends here while interacting about a recipe of their favorite cake those who were guests at a restaurant are now great friends with the owners instances where based on the kind of interactions on the group someone decided to leave their job come work at a restaurant and trust the city s love for food Yes that happened There are thousands of such bizarre yet beautifully overwhelming stories over the past years It is overwhelming to know that we are collectively the cause of so many dynamics in the city and beyond We just wanted to thank you all this morning for creating something so alive and soulful For making us experience a part of it yesterday evening If there was a way to hug 40k members of the God knows we would ve It also got us thinking there s so much food heritage that we are living with everyday We must document and share them P S The Handva was epic Never tasted something like this and we ve requested Ruchita to document this recipe There was traditional Dal Bati too

#FiAFamily is not just a community, it is a beautiful and consistent emotion which we, once again, experienced last night.
Based on a single comment on FiA’s facebook group, Ruchita Mehta Saxena invited us over to try the Handvo she makes from a recipe which runs in her family for a 100+ years. There we were, waiting at her doorstep with a tubful of ice-cream to be eaten for dessert afterwards.
Once we got to talking, we realized she was as amused as we were that a couple of strangers had come over for a meal based on a comment on a post on FiA; and how the extrapolated version of this same experience is felt while coming to any of the FiA meets!
And, that's what #FiAFamily is all about.

We've come a long way from being just a bunch of people talking about food to this – this record-breaking, Undhiyu-Jalebi-Eating, Garba Playing, ever so enthusiastic Foodaholics who believe in the magic that can happen over food and today, we just want to really acknowledge that!
There have been instances where members have found the most inseparable best of friends here while interacting about a recipe of their favorite cake; those who were guests at a restaurant are now great friends with the owners; instances where, based on the kind of interactions on the group, someone decided to leave their job, come work at a restaurant, and trust the city's love for food! Yes that happened!
There are thousands of such bizarre yet beautifully overwhelming stories over the past years! It is overwhelming to know that we are collectively the cause of so many dynamics in the city and beyond!
We just wanted to thank you all this morning for creating something so alive and soulful. For making us experience a part of it yesterday evening!
If there was a way to hug 40k+ members of the #FiAFamily, God knows we would've!
It also got us thinking, there's so much food heritage that we are living with, everyday! We must document and share them!
P.S - The Handva was epic! Never tasted something like this and we've requested Ruchita to document this recipe! There was traditional Dal Bati too!
