What you see in the pictures here is : Pizza Al Tartufo : Black Truffle and Truffle Oil. 'nuff said! Quattro Stagioni : 4 pizzas on One! This is a delight for people who, unlike Joey, share their Pizzas. Alla Diavola : Classic Pepperoni Tiramisu Bestseller's Calzone (with a runny yolk in the centre, ham and cheese!) This was the first time we saw Black Truffles being grated directly onto a pizza, in Ahmedabad! Cannot believe it's been a decade-long journey with the entire #FiAFamily , yet, everytime we discover something new, it's a whole new feeling, every single time. A few hours ago, we came across a pop-up for Tiramisu and the coffee-lovers that we are, we immediately called the number given, asked if there's anything available for last-minute requests like ours. Guess what!? We were in luck! We were told that the portion size is enough for two hungry souls. So we requested for two portions, ofcourse. 😜 The pick-up was from Latitude (Mithakali) between 11am and 2pm. We were on time, picked up our boxes, got home and took a spoonful, instantly after taking this photo and were so glad to taste a Tiramisu so close to the real deal! We were told that @tanaya_jolly , the one who made this fantastic dessert, learnt it at a cafe in Cambridge and has been practicing ever since. Ofcourse the key ingredient to the modern Tiramisu recipe is missing, but that has not stopped her from exploring the dessert. Ofcourse the key ingredient to the modern Tiramisu recipe is missing, but that has not stopped her from exploring the dessert. Cannot believe it's been a decade-long journey with the entire #FiAFamily , yet, everytime we discover something new, it's a whole new feeling, every single time. A few hours ago, we came across a pop-up for Tiramisu and the coffee-lovers that we are, we immediately called the number given, asked if there's anything available for last-minute requests like ours. Guess what!? We were in luck! We were told that the portion size is enough for two hungry souls. So we requested for two portions, ofcourse. 😜 The pick-up was from Latitude (Mithakali) between 11am and 2pm. We were on time, picked up our boxes, got home and took a spoonful, instantly after taking this photo and were so glad to taste a Tiramisu so close to the real deal! Located 27km away from the city (Assuming Pakwan crossroads being the start point), at Glade One, this restaurant is picturesque and tranquil in abundance! For dinners, it is recommended that you reach there before 6pm and we were just in time for dusk. It was gorgeous. BREADS A basket of incredibly fresh assorted breads. We feared no loss of appetite before finishing these off with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. (A favourite!) CREAM OF POTATO & LEEK 350 with scallions, chilly oil and chicken, our soup was nothing like we've ever had in or around the city before. Luscious and immensely flavourful. #MUSTTRY WATERMELON FETA 350 This otherwise straightforward salad was transformed owing to the citrusy balsamic reduction over the fresh greens straight from their garden and a fantastic cold slice of watermelon with feta, black olives, and walnuts. #MUSTTRY FUNGHI TRIFOLATI 400 Sautéed mushrooms served with mushroom cream, parsley, chillies, and sautéed garlic. If you are a mushroom lover, it is a #MUSTTRY KASUNDI MACHLI KE SULE 450 A fish which was alive no more than 12hrs ago, we were assured, was marinated in mustard and cooked in tandoor. Divine! HALF TANDOORI CHICKEN 550 Marination, as perfect as one would expect in this very popular preparation! The chutney was spot on but wasn't needed owing to the perfectly cooked and marinated chicken! APPLE PIE 350 Dense yet lovely tart pastry and delicious filling made for a great dessert. TIRAMISU 350 Underwhelming. It was a mousse with sponge. Can be skipped. We are very eager to go again and try things that we couldn't this time owing to the limited appetite between the two of us. Moreover, also keen to try their breakfast and check out the morning view! A visit to this ambiguously named place revealed the following : 1) I must always sit with my back towards the glass facade. Watching people sweating it out in the gymnasium across and the agile players having a swift go at the football, hold a lethal potential to destroy my appetite. 2) The MUTTON SEEKH POCKETS were smashing combination of all the components within. I was worried when the dish came ice-cold but it defeated my inhibitions. Goes great with the hummus. 3) If the mushroom is more prominent in flavour than the chicken in a dish called CHICKEN STUFFED MUSHROOM CAPS, is it a good thing or otherwise? 4) The DESI DUDE PLATTER seemed to suffer a case of performance anxiety due to mistaken identity. Don't think it was either much of Indian nor Western. The only thing missing was a forced accent. 5) The TRUFFLE SCENTED CHICKEN BREAST was good but the mashed potatoes served alongside really made my soul squeal. Dry, and unusually set on the platter. The lack of flavour worsened the case. Although when mixed with the sauce served with the chicken, the potatoes did resurrect themselves, momentarily. 7) DECONSTRUCTED BLACK FOREST could serve as a subject for Food Fads gone wrong. Couldn't tell if it were crushed oreo or overbaked chocolate shortbread. Was unpleasantly coarse, served with cream and tart cherry compote. Put together or individually, it did not taste well. Should’ve gone against the recommendation and stuck with the tiramisu. 6) The NEW AGE TIRAMISU seemed like their take on the classic; it made for a good dessert! 7) SAFIA, the mocktail, was diabetically sweet, for my personal preference.
