The fare at the ongoing KBC Festival at @doubletreeahmedabad KBC, short for Kebabs - Biryani - Curries, ferries around a lot of peripherals of Mughlai cuisine from Nizami, Lucknavi, Afghani, etc. The festival has a live counters for the Shami Kebab. The tikkas, rotis and Seekh Kebab can be seen being made through the looking glass of the open kitchen. The Soups, Curries, Biryanis and the accompaniments are served as a buffet. There's also a quirky truck-like setup for the beverages near the musicians, who create some interesting jugalbandi between the Sitar and Tabla. The menu is going to be rotational and hence it will be cruel to lure you by labelling all that we were served. Look at the pictures and know that edit had no role to play in making them appear drool-some. The food came with its own meritorious appeal. The highlights in the menu during our time were: Mutton durust shorba, Subz shikampuri Kebab, Lahori Tandoori Murgh, Ajwaini Mahi Tikka, Afghani Murgh ki Seekh, Lakhnavi Shammi Kebab, Anjeer Makhmali Kofta Curry, Patiyala Shahi Chicken Curry, Meen Moilee, Subz dum Biryani, Lakhnavi Gosht Biryani. There are equal options for both vegetarians and non.vegetarians, both made with the same zeal, and that's a plus. Find this spread until the 22nd of May, 2022 At, @doubletreeahmedabad Between 7pm to 11pm. #FoodaholicsxHilton #Indian #Food #Mughlai #Awadhi #Tandoor #Kebab #Curry #Biryani #Hilton #Ahmedabad #FoodaholicsinAhmedabad #Foodaholics

"Ridiculous!" Was our unanimous reaction the instant we scooped a spoonful of this dessert. Labelled as 'Honey Cake' on @driftahmedabad 's Menu, its a far more complex creation than substituting sugar with honey. We know because we made the gross mistake of assuming it to be that! But when we learnt the very tedious and time consuming technique of building this it became an edible sorcery, for us. We'd be doing injustice to this dessert were we to attempt describing the texture and taste in words but know that while being a Honey Cake, it's not overly sweet and while it looks like a cake, it melts like butter in the mouth! Imagine honey crisps (to discount using a more technique term) moistened by soaking it in honey and cake cream for over 8-10hrs, sandwiched between layers of sour cream + whipping cream to balance the sweetness. A beautiful creation! We wanted you to read this as the first thing on the weekend so that you can decide how you would like to accomodate a visit to @driftahmedabad ! Also, this-just-in, @driftahmedabad now has an air-conditioned seating area too! #FoodaholicsxDrift #Honey #Cake #Dessert #RoofTop #Restaurant #Ahmedabad #Foodaholic #Food #FoodaholicsinAhmedabad

The Kaarigari on the walls of Diya, @theleelagandhinagar, is hypnotising. When you proceed to have the first taste of the food, you realise the hypnotism isn't limited to the Karigari on the walls, and you have now been possessed! The minute attention given to the tiniest of the elements, be it the ambience or the technique of preparing food, be it the way ‘khadaa masala’ is treated for the kebabs or the way the tables are set with Silver cutlery on a table that’s ready to host you for as long as it takes to satiate your craving for a beautiful Indian meal, makes the experience at Diya - Whole. The ceiling, hand-made chandeliers, the spell-binding fragrance of kebabs and the sight of fresh Naan coming out of Tandoors; all of this (and more) collectively hit all your senses. The highlight of this restaurant is Chef Javed – for the uninitiated, he has a ‘Qureshi’ lineage from Lucknow, which means he is genetically programmed to belt out some lipsmacking delicacies of a very delicately complex cuisine and make it look like his average Tuesday, while at it. So far, Chef Javed is like an urban legend for us, since we've heard a lot about him, from a lot of people, but haven’t met him, despite having visited Diya over four times now (our last visit was on last Monday, when we learnt that Chef had gone to celebrate Eid with his family ❤️) Here’s what our table usually looks like : Nawabi Kakori Nimbu Kasundi Mahi Tikka Hyderabadi Jalli Kebab Peshawari Chap Jaituni Paneer Tikka Pan ke Patte ki Chaat Rara Gosht Palak Bathua ka Saag Dal Diya Khas Murgh Dum Biryani Truffle Flavoured Parmesan Naan Roomali Roti Tender Coconut Kheer Anjeer aur Khajoor ka Halwa If you’re someone like @rohanbhatt who has travelled to Lucknow, just for the Galauti and the Biryani, know that the Nawabi Kakori WILL save you a trip to Lucknow! We fell in love with the Dal Diya Khas as well as that Naan (Beautiful flavours!). The menu has some very interesting introductions like the Choliya Kamal Kakdi ka Mel and Kasore ka Kadaknath (a famous breed of black chicken from tribal areas of M.P) There are also some great vegetarian options!

Are you a Rumali roti fan? I know, I am. And so is @eshashah12 ; and despite our quest for an amazing Rumali since years, we aren’t in possession of a single recommendation of a mindblowing Rumali. “What is a mind-blowing Rumali?!”, you ask. Well, if we had to define it – a Rumali would need to have a soft, almost feathery touch. Made from a well-rested dough, roll so thin that light can pass through it, and it would be tough for us to call it a Rumali if it did not contain an egg. There will need to be a slight bit of sweetness which would be countered by the salt in the butter that would wash the roti as soon as it came off the tava. This roti, when eaten just by itself, should have all the flavours and not leave one, wanting for more. That, for us, is a Rumali roti. Now, since we are in a city where wanting an egg in the rumali is a luxury; we might also settle for a substitute which is largely used by restaurants all over the country – banana. Hell, we are at that point in our hunger journey that if we don’t find a good Rumali, we might just swear off of it! (not there there’ll be any other option!) So here’s me asking you for recommendations for your favourite place for a Rumali roti. Which is that one restaurant that has satiated your cravings?! The Karaari Rumali/Rumali ki tokri is a fantastic way to repurpose the Rumali ka aata! If only there was an easier way to eat this massive basket, without making a mess on the table! But what joy! Cheers n Happy Eatin’!! p.s : SL (Cama) used to be our go-to for Rumali; unfortunately they’ve discontinued theirs, and hence reducing our visits there, for the CBM! #MahaHeartbreak #Rumaliroti #IndianFood #IndianBread #FoodaholicsinAhmedabad #Foodaholics #Ahmedabad #Food
